Cookie Monster!
We just got back from staying at Beaches Resort in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. We had a fabulously relaxing time! The resort was all-inclusive and it was Sesame Street themed, which made it great for the kids. They had a great kids club, with certified nannies...and Lilly Claire loved it! This was a great thing, because it freed up mommy and daddy to snorkel and swim with Jackson and Savannah Grace!
On our first day there, we went out into the ocean on kayaks. Jody and Jackson were in one, and Savannah Grace and I were in the other. Well, long story short.....Savannah Grace and I had to be rescued by a rescue boat!!!!! The wind blew us too far out and I could not get us turned around. Savannah Grace was crying hysterically saying, "Next time, I'm riding in daddy's boat!" Haha.
Our days in Turks and Caicos went something like this...we slept until about 9:30 and then made it down to the buffet breakfast before they closed at 10:30. We would then drop Lilly Claire off at the kids club and head to one of the pools. We would go down the waterslides a million times, and then float the lazy river. Jody took on the cabana-boy role and kept all of us refreshed with cool pool drinks through-out the day. Around 2:45 we would head out on a snorkeling trip for an hour. At 4pm, we would pick up Lilly Claire and take her to the lazy river and the kids pool area. Around 5:30, we would head over to French Village for a snack of blueberries and chocolate milk and then head to the room to get ready for the evening. Around 6:30 we would usually attend a Sesame Street Live show and then go to dinner. Our favorite restaraunt was one called "barefoot". It was right on the beach and the tables were right on the sand. There was always live music and the atmosphere just couldn't be beat. Around 9:00 each nite, we would head back to the room and put Lilly Claire down for bed. Jackson and Jody would head to the X-Box Game Garage for a few hours and Savannah Grace and I would play endless games of UNO.
Both Jackson and Savannah Grace learned to snorkel. On one of our snorkeling trips, we found one of those huge conch shells. We brought it home for a keepsake of our trip. The water in Turks and Caicos was like swimming in a big swimming pool. It was so clear! The snorkeling was really great, too! We saw so many fish, turtles, baracudas, shells, and awesome coral! It really was a fabulous trip!
