The Florida gulf coast! So beautiful! This was our choice destination for an extended family vacation. We rented a beach house and 15 of us headed to Panama City Beach for a week of fun in the sun. Val, Matt, Samuel, Bennett, James.....Katie and Nicklas....Grandfather, Nee Nee and Uncle Wil....and our family occupied the beautiful beach house that was appropriately named "Changes in Attitudes."

We had a fabulous time playing at the beach and on the blow-up waterslide that we brought along. We shopped, ate out, watched fireworks on the beach on the 4th of July, and the cousins played non-stop the whole week. Bennett and Savannah Grace were best buds, Jackson and Samuel picked up right where they left off, and the the 3 one-year-olds were as precious as could be. Our cabana boys....Grandfather and Jody did a superb job of keeping us comfortable in the hot sun. It was a great week....Family, fun and sun!

Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Camp

Performance Day! She did so Great!

Lilly Claire and Jackson at the Rainforest Cafe. We spent the 3 days touring Dallas while we waited on SG. They were troopers!

Our future DCC!

Savannah Grace, Lilly Claire and Jackson after Day 2 of camp. Savannah Grace was always starving to death after camp! That's why she's looking a little whiney.

The DCC performing for the crowd on performance day.

Savannah Grace in her line, getting ready to perform.

Savannah Grace earned a sticker on day 2 for smiling so great while she was dancing!

Day 1 of Camp DCC!

Getting ready to leave the house for the 1.5 hour drive to Valley Ranch on day 1 of camp!

This was her favorite camp outfit that mom made.

I will begin this post by admitting the truth....I am totally living vicariously thru my little daughter in this instance. Oh-well. At least she had fun.

Last week, Savannah Grace attended Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Camp at Valley Ranch. It was led by the real DCC and yes, I was star struck.
I have been looking at this camp for the past couple of years...anticipating the big age of 5 when Savannah Grace would finally be old enough to attend. Yes, she's only 4. However, 2 months ago, I called..hee hee hee... and said, "I know she's only 4, but she's been taking dance for 2 years and..." The nice cheerleader sounding girl on the other end of the phone said, "Sure! We'd love to have her!" Yay! She was in!

I spent the evening before the first day of camp making customized outfits that said stuff such as "Future DCC". Each outfit had plenty of ironed on rhinestones and a bow to match. Hee Hee.

The 3-day camp ended up being fabulous for her. Her main teacher was the cheerleader named Brooke. They were all super sweet...well, they are America's Sweethearts, you know.
On Friday, they put on a performance for the parents. Almost all of the little girls wore the actual cheerleader uniform. Savannah Grace has had a uniform for 2 years! Savannah Grace did great in the performance. They learned 3 dances and one cheer. My favorite dance was to a song that said something like, "I'm...just a little bossy." The song fit her to a tee. She really got into that one.
She says that she definately wants to go back to camp next year, but she's not sure she wants to be out on the field as a real cheerleader when she grows up, because she'll miss me too much. I assurred her that I would figure out a way to upgrade our cowboy seats to ones closer to the field! As of right now, she says she'll think about it and let me know later on.

A Fun Weekend in July

This past weekend was a fun one for our family. The 3 homes in our cul-de-sac...the Dodens, the Rogers, and us...hosted a Cul-de-sac party for the entire neighborhood. We've been planning it for months and it turned out to be a great evening. We had a DJ, a bounce house, a margarita machine and lots of grilled hotdogs and snacks. We decorated the cul-de-sac curb with tiki torches and white lights. It was fabulous!

On Sunday morning, Jody and I worked in the 3 year old class at church. I love getting to spend time with the kids that are the same age as my kiddos. There are some super cool kiddos....espcially a little guy named Preston Reed....that really make me smile. I'm excited for Savannah Grace to grow up with such precious little friends.

On Sunday evening, we took a boat out with our friends the Rehmets. This was the first time we've been out on a boat in lake Texoma in 2 years!!! The year before last was when the lake flooded and last year, Lilly Claire was just too small. However, being out on the lake made us remember why we moved here in the first place!! We love the lake, we love boating, we want our kids to grow up in that environment. Both Jackson and Savannah Grace tubed and loved it and Jackson says he wants to learn to ski! I guess our life on the lake is back!

I didn't take a single picture of either of these events this weekend!
