The Easter Bunny Came Early!

When we arrived home from our trip to Oklahoma City today, there was a supercute, decorated box on our porch that had been delivered. Our friends...Sharon, Todd, Jason and Sarah Swan...had sent the kids an Easter package full of fun stuff and candy. Thank ya'll so much...and we miss you, too!!!!

Savannah Grace had a dance competition in Oklahoma City this weekend and they won the "Diva Award". Hmmm. I'm so proud of her???!!! They also won a "High Gold" trophy and they won 4th place overall in the 8 and under category.

It was a fun weekend and we really enjoyed spending time with cousins Jager and June. Thanks for a great weekend, Jason and Naomi!

Warning...this is gross!

It all started Monday morning while Jackson was eating breakfast, getting ready to start back to school after spring break. "Mom, my tummy hurts." The dreaded 4 words. The next 8 hours were spent cleaning up messes, washing towels and sheets, and lots of gatorade and hugs.

Savannah Grace had gone on to school and then went home to play with her best friend, Houston. Around 3pm, I carried Jackson to the car and gave him a bucket and a bottle of gatorade and told him we had to take Savannah Grace to dance. I know, I know....but we did have to take her!!!!

Anyway, we picked Savannah Grace up at Houston's house and headed to dance. She was her bubbly, happy self and went in to dance without any hesitation. I explained to her that I was going to wait in the car with Jackson and the baby while she was in dance, because Jackson is sick and that I would come in to get her when class was over. Well...

About 10 minutes from dance being over, another mom came running out to my car..."Savannah Grace just threw up everywhere!!" OMG. I run in to find Savannah Grace crying, covered in throw-up...including her pink fluffy tutu. All the little girls were in panic mode, and the young dance teachers were horrified at the throw-up that was apparently all over them as well. I cleaned SG up as best I could and then I had to clean up the throw up!!!! Chunks kept falling out of the towels I was trying to clean with and I had to pick a few pieces up with my hands. OMG. Where is Jody when you need him.

Happy 6th Birthday, Jackson!

On March 20th, Jackson turned 6 years old! I can remember the day you were born like it was yesterday! I remember going to the doctor on March 19th and my blood pressure was too high. Dr. Gernt said we would see our baby the next day, but for tonight...go home and get in bed. However, I went directly to the nail shop to get my toes and nails done. I had to look my best when I met my little buddy! When I did finally get home and get in bed, after making a million phone calls...the United States had begun an attack on Baghdad and the War in Iraq had begun. I slept amazingly well under the circumstances, and we got up early and headed across all of the big bridges of Charleston, South Carolina to the hospital in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. By the time I was just getting settled, Grandfather, Uncle Bert and Wil show up from Texarkana! They drove all night to be there for your birth! After a little shoulder distocia, you were born at 7:07pm and weighed 9lbs, 7oz. You were a precious, perfect baby and I loved you sooo much!

Year #5 was a big year for you! You started kindergarten, you learned to tie your shoes, you learned to ride a bike, you lost 2 teeth, you played football and baseball for the first time, you learned to read really well. You are an awesome big brother, and both of your sisters adore you. You are smart and a leader and you stand up for what is right, even at such a young age. You are very giving, calm, happy, and entertaining. You crack us up with your dance moves and funny voices and goofy grin. You have made us so proud to be your mom and dad. Happy Birthday, Jackson. We love you!

We had a fabulous spring break! We went on a disney cruise that visited St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. The kids had a blast and mom and dad feel refreshed! Things we don't want to forget...bingo, Lilly Claire enjoying the music in the Promenade lounge, sitting on the balcony at nite, room service!!!, mickey bars, jewelry shopping, hanging out at the beach, the mickey slide, all the coordinating outfits, throwing confetti on Jackson in bed on his birthday, Jody and Jackson playing basketball on deck 10, not wanting to get out of bed on the last day...."but dad, we really like the disney magic!"

It's that time of year again, when we all head down to Shreveport to get some beads! We tailgated all day in a great spot...thanks to Uncle Bert! Then, around 4:30 we put the pack-n-play on the street and took our spots. The parade is so fun....lots of loud music from the floats and lots of bead and toy throwing. Savannah Grace and Lilly Claire were in the pack-n-play most of the parade and that gave the bead throwers a big target to hit. We totally racked up this year!
